Vision Statement
Mihkoskiwakak Emergency Response ensures the well-being and safety of the membership, facilities, infrastructure, and assets within the community. It serves and protects the Mihkoskiwakak Nehiyawak membership during emergencies, natural disasters, critical incidences, and any unforeseen circumstances.
Mission Statement
Mihkoskiwakak emergency response is committed to safeguarding our community’s well-being through proactive disaster management. We prioritize effective risk communication, meticulous evacuation planning, and seamless coordination with all relevant agencies. We will collaborate closely to ensure our community is informed and prepared. Together, we aim to ensure a timely and organized evacuation process that protects the lives and livelihoods of our people.
Mihkoskiwakak Emergency Plan
The Mihkoskiwakak Emergency Plan will endeavor to ensure that a timely and well-coordinated response is coordinated to deal with any emergencies that may threaten the community. The emergency plan will not lessen the potential threats that readers have or will experience but provide a plan of action to combat the threat of disasters effectively.
Stages of an Emergency
- Coordination through the Office of the Emergency Response Coordinator
- The threat of an emergency is reported to the Emergency Response Coordinator > The Chief and Council are notified by Emergency > The Mihkoskiwakak Emergency Response Team is notified > Emergency meeting > Plan of Action
